About Chris
Chris was borne and raised in Charleston, Illinois. He grew up in a loving Christian home, and came to know Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Two months after graduating from High School, Chris headed out to Air Force basic training to pursue a career in the Air Force with the next 30 years of life planned out.

In 1996, arriving to his first duty station at Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa, Japan, Chris was introduced to Todd and Karla Tillepaugh, a Malachi missionary couple running the local youth group. It was only a after a few months of volunteering with the youth group that Chris decided that, as much as he loved the Air Force life, God was calling him to full-time youth ministry. For the next couple of years, Todd patiently mentored Chris in youth ministry and in life until the Air Force decided that Chris’ services were needed at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

It was only a couple of weeks on Ramstein before Chris sought out Mark and Kathy Wilson who happened to be Malachi missionaries running the local Middle School youth ministry. Do you sense a pattern developing? For two years and change, Mark continued mentoring Chris, along with Sandy Nafziger who was a Cadence missionary running the Chapel Singles Ministry.

Chris separated from the Air Force in May of 2000 and moved back to Charleston to attend Eastern Illinois University and volunteer with the youth ministry he grew up in. In 2002 Chris transferred to Grace University in Omaha, NE and completed his double Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Education.

While Chris contemplated various ministry opportunities, Mark Wilson gave Chris a call about joining the Malachi team. Chris was accepted as a Cadence associate missionary in August of 2004 and landed back in Ramstein, Germany in January of 2005 (9 years after hearing the call to youth ministry).

Chris’ associate missionary program with Malachi ended in May of 2006 and Chris returned from Landstuhl, Germany to Charleston once again. He is currently finishing raising prayer and financial support to work with Malachi Youth in Okinawa as soon as possible.

If you would like to contact Chris, or if you would like to partner with him in ministry, in prayer or financially, see his contact information above.
